A large family all-inclusive next to the Xcaret park complex whose single most misunderstood characteristic is this: park access is not included in the base rate. The operator sells it as an optional add-on. This is also one of the very few resorts in the region that publishes its mandatory ecotax in figures, which makes it genuinely easier to total a real cost.

The single most important fact on this page
Park access is not included in the rate. The operator sells it as an optional add-on.
The resort’s name contains “Xcaret”. It sits beside the park complex. Two other properties in the same corridor do bundle park access into the rate. It is entirely understandable that people arrive here believing the park is included, and it is not.
If you want park access bundled, you want a different property. If you want a conventional all-inclusive with the option of buying park entry when you feel like it, this is exactly that, and the optionality may suit you better.
What it does unusually well
This operator publishes its exclusions properly. Not a vague note about “some services”, but an itemized list: spa and salon, babysitting, laundry, medical care, phone calls, vehicle rental, external tours, and a room service surcharge unless you are in the top room tier.
More unusual still, it publishes its mandatory ecotax in actual figures. Across every operator we read on this coast, almost none do. The state charge exists everywhere; this is one of the very few properties that tells you what it is before you arrive. That single piece of honesty makes it easier to build a real total here than at most of its competitors, and it is worth weighing as a signal about the operator.
The inclusions list is similarly specific: the sports offering is itemized rather than implied, and the snack allowance is quantified.
The tier structure
Parts of this resort sit behind higher room classes. The standard rate explicitly excludes the First Club and Royal Level areas, and room service is free only at Royal Level.
Tiered resorts work well for people who buy the tier and badly for people who do not and then spend the week looking at a section they cannot enter. Decide which of those you are before booking, not after.
What is not published
