The criterion, stated first
A resort qualifies if its operator designates it adults-only and we hold at least eight sourced facts from its official site. Both entries sit on the same corridor at the same distance from the airport, so this list is really about what separates two tiers of the same brand rather than about location.

The shortest published airport transfer of any resort we cover: 2.7 km from Sangster International, about ten to fifteen minutes. An adults-only property at Rose Hall with three infinity pools, on a 24-hour all-inclusive model.

Hotel Riu Montego Bay
An adults-only resort on the same short airport corridor as its Palace stablemate, 2.7 km from Sangster International, with five pools and a published Jamaican barbecue on the beach among the themed dining.

What these two share
Both publish 2.7 km from Sangster International and a drive of ten to fifteen minutes — the shortest transfer we have recorded anywhere, across three countries. Both are adults-only. Both run a 24-hour all-inclusive. Both are on Mahoe Bay under the same brand.
If the short transfer is what draws you to this corridor, you get it at either, and you do not need the higher tier to have it.
What separates them
Riu Palace Jamaica publishes three infinity pools with swim-up loungers plus one outdoor pool with a swim-up bar, and states Splash Water World access and the Renova Spa as part of the stay.
Riu Montego Bay publishes five swimming pools, one with a swim-up bar — more pools by count, less specified in kind — and names an authentic Jamaican barbecue on the beach among its themed restaurants.
That last detail is worth more than it looks. Across every resort we document in this market, published dining lists are overwhelmingly Italian, Asian and steakhouse. An operator naming local cooking is signalling something real about the week.
The finding that applies to both
Neither publishes a minimum age. Both are labelled adults-only, repeatedly and prominently, and neither states a number.
Two resorts, same brand, same corridor, same gap. At that point it stops being an oversight at one property and starts being a pattern in how this brand communicates — which is a useful thing for a reader to know before booking any of its adults-only resorts anywhere.
Ask, in writing, before paying. It is one question.
The catch on each
Riu Palace Jamaica: you are paying a tier premium for fit-out, not for location — the transfer is identical next door. Also worth noting it publishes water park access, which is not what everyone chooses an adults-only resort for.
Riu Montego Bay: more pools, but none described as infinity pools, and no published spa or water park access. The saving is real and so is what it buys you less of.
What is not here
No resort was added on reputation. Several well-known Jamaican adults-only brands are absent because their operators’ sites could not be read by our tooling, and we do not write profiles from secondary sources.
Who should ignore this list
Families – in our current Jamaica coverage the family option is ninety minutes east at Ocho Rios, and there is no family resort on this corridor we can document. Also anyone who treats the adults-only label as a guarantee, because neither entry publishes the number that would make it one.
