A large adults-only resort on Arena Gorda beach running a 24-hour all-inclusive, with a pool setup the operator does publish in detail: five outdoor pools, three of them with swim-up bars. What it does not publish is the minimum age, which for an adults-only property is the one number that matters most.

Why this list has one entry

The entry, and its one significant gap
Riu Republica publishes five outdoor pools with three swim-up bars, on a 24-hour all-inclusive, on Arena Gorda beach twenty-eight kilometres from Punta Cana International.
It does not publish a minimum age. It is labelled adults-only throughout and states no number anywhere we could find.
This matters more here than almost anywhere else on this site. Adults-only means eighteen at some properties and sixteen at others. In a school-holiday week, a sixteen-plus resort is a materially different environment from an eighteen-plus one — and if the absence of younger guests is precisely what you are paying for, then the one thing you are buying is the one thing that is unverified.
What to do about that
Ask the operator directly and get the answer in writing before you pay. It is a single question and it takes one email.
We will not print a number we cannot source, and we would rather tell you the question is open than guess at the answer and be wrong in the direction that ruins a holiday.
The alternative worth knowing about
Riu Palace Bavaro sits on the same beach under the same brand, takes families, and publishes two adults-only pools within the property.
For some couples that is the better answer: reserved adult water space inside a resort that publishes far more of its facts, rather than a whole-property adults-only label whose defining number is missing. It depends whether you want quiet water or a quiet resort, and those are genuinely different purchases.

Families, and anyone who reads adults-only as a guarantee rather than a label. If a strictly adult environment is your reason for booking, read the age policy note below before anything else – it applies to the only resort on this list.
