All-inclusive resorts with swim-up bars
The criterion, stated first
A resort qualifies only if its operator publishes swim-up bars as a count or a clear layout – how many pools have one. A resort that mentions a swim-up bar in passing without saying how many does not qualify. Entries are ordered by the proportion of the resort’s pools that have one, because three out of five is a genuinely different experience from one out of six.

Hotel Riu Republica
A large adults-only resort on Arena Gorda beach running a 24-hour all-inclusive, with a pool setup the operator does publish in detail: five outdoor pools, three of them with swim-up bars. What it does not publish is the minimum age, which for an adults-only property is the one number that matters most.

The shortest published airport transfer of any resort we cover: 2.7 km from Sangster International, about ten to fifteen minutes. An adults-only property at Rose Hall with three infinity pools, on a 24-hour all-inclusive model.

An adults-only resort on the same short airport corridor as its Palace stablemate, 2.7 km from Sangster International, with five pools and a published Jamaican barbecue on the beach among the themed dining.

Why proportion, not presence
Nearly every large all-inclusive claims a swim-up bar. The useful question is how much of the resort’s water actually has one, because that determines whether it is a feature of your holiday or a thing you walk to once.
Every entry below publishes a count or a described layout. Resorts that mention a swim-up bar without saying how many are not on this list, which is why it is shorter than you might expect.
Ordered by provision
1. Riu Republica — three of five pools have swim-up bars. The most generous proportion we have recorded. Adults-only, on Arena Gorda in Punta Cana, 24-hour all-inclusive. The catch: it does not publish a minimum age despite the adults-only label, and it publishes no exclusions list at all.
2. Riu Ocho Rios — two of six pools have swim-up bars. A family resort on Jamaica’s north coast, with children’s pools alongside. The catch: ninety kilometres and about ninety minutes from Montego Bay airport, which is a serious cost on a short trip.
3. Riu Palace Jamaica — one outdoor pool with a swim-up bar, plus three infinity pools with swim-up loungers. The catch: the loungers are not a bar, and we have kept the distinction rather than blurring the two to improve the entry. Adults-only, minimum age unpublished.
4. Riu Montego Bay — one of five pools has a swim-up bar. The catch: the lowest proportion here, and the same unpublished minimum age as its neighbour.
A pattern worth noticing
Every resort on this list is operated by the same brand. That is not a recommendation of the brand — it is a finding about disclosure. RIU publishes pool layouts specifically enough to be counted; most operators in our data describe “several swimming pools” and leave it there.
A list built on published facts will over-represent operators who publish facts. That is worth knowing when reading any shortlist of this kind, including ours.
What we could not include
Barcelo Bavaro Palace publishes four pools with distinct purposes and no swim-up bar count. Occidental Punta Cana does not publish a pool count at all. Neither absence means the feature is missing — only that the operator has not said, and we do not fill gaps from elsewhere.
Who should ignore this list
Anyone who does not drink, obviously, but also families booking primarily for children – swim-up bars sit in adult-oriented or mixed pools, and at two of these resorts the pool in question is adults-only. And anyone expecting a quiet pool: the pool with the bar is reliably the loudest one on any property.
