Eleven pools, and two of them are yours

This is the most generously provisioned property in our Punta Cana set on the measure families actually use. Eleven pools, with two reserved for adults, plus a water park on site rather than sold as an add-on.

The two adults-only pools are the detail worth pausing on. A family resort that reserves adult water space is solving the problem most family resorts ignore: parents who want an hour that is not supervised swimming. It is the same arrangement the sister property down the beach offers by excluding children entirely, except here you do not have to choose between the two.

The kids club age band, published

RIU Land runs for ages four to twelve. That single published range puts this resort ahead of most of the market, because it lets you eliminate the property in ten seconds if your children fall outside it.

And some will. Four to twelve is the industry-standard band, which means the same two gaps as everywhere else: a three-year-old cannot use it, and a fourteen-year-old will not want to. If you are travelling with a toddler or a teenager, the club is not part of what you are buying, and you should price the resort on its pools and its food instead.

The 24-hour model

Food and drink around the clock rather than in service windows. With small children and a late arrival, that is worth more than an extra restaurant.

What the transfer costs

Twenty-five kilometres from PUJ, thirty to forty minutes. Arena Gorda is further out than Bavaro proper, and the resorts here are correspondingly newer and larger. Whether that is a good trade depends almost entirely on how long you are staying.

What is not published

No room count, so the guest-to-pool ratio is unknowable. No restaurant count — the operator lists cuisines, not venues. And no exclusions list, which for a resort this specific about its pools is a curious silence. Assume premium spirits and speciality experiences sit outside the rate until told otherwise.
