Pools: the clearest published difference

Riu Reggae publishes five pools, described rather than counted — two outdoor pools with a swim-up bar, and three infinity pools with swim-up loungers.

Five against three, and Reggae’s description tells you the shape of them. On pool provision, Reggae is the better-documented and the better-provided.

Rooms: the other way round

Reggae’s published ladder tops out at a junior suite with a frontal sea view. Below that: double standard with balcony, exterior view, sea view, lateral sea view.

The Palace grade is the brand’s higher tier, and that is what it is for.

So the trade is legible: more pool at Reggae, better room at the Palace, on the same sand, at the same distance from the same runway.

Food

Reggae names five venues — main, Italian, Asian, steakhouse, Kulinarium — and counts four bars.

Neither property publishes a restaurant count. Across our Jamaica coverage this is consistent, and it is a gap rather than a difference.

Choose Riu Reggae if

Pool time is the centre of your day, you want swim-up loungers and a swim-up bar, and an ordinary room with a balcony is enough. Also if value is the driver, since the lower tier is the point of it.

Choose Riu Palace Jamaica if

You want the higher room grade and you do not need five pools to do it.

Where the evidence cannot separate them

Neither publishes a room count, a restaurant count, a minimum age, or a mandatory fee schedule. On a corridor where three adults-only resorts share one distance figure, the room count is the number that would actually tell you which of them feels busy — and none of them publishes it.
