Riu Palace Baja California vs Riu Santa Fe

The split is clean

Riu Palace Baja California is adults-only. Riu Santa Fe is family. Both publish a Camino Viejo a San Jose address on the corridor between Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo.

One publishes the transfer; the other does not

The Palace publishes 40 km from Los Cabos International (SJD) and advises allowing about an hour.

Riu Santa Fe publishes nothing about the airport.

We have deliberately not carried the Palace’s figure across. They are on the same road, and the drive is presumably similar — but “presumably” is how unsourced numbers enter the world, and a distance published for one hotel is not evidence about another.

Counts versus names

The Palace counts four pools and seven bars. Santa Fe counts nothing at all — not rooms, not pools, not restaurants, not bars.

What Santa Fe does instead is name: eight dining venues including Kulinarium, a steakhouse, a grill and a taco counter, and five bars by name.

Naming is arguably more useful than counting when you are choosing what a week feels like. It is much less useful when you are trying to work out whether a resort is crowded.

Rooms

The Palace publishes five categories, all junior suites or above, topping out at two Elite Club ocean-front grades.

Santa Fe publishes no room categories in plain language at all — only internal codes. That is the weakest room documentation of any property in our coverage.

Families

Santa Fe publishes Splash Water World on site and RIU Land as the children’s programme. Ages are not published, as everywhere in this chain.
