A new all-inclusive resort is opening on Curacao this month, on a stretch of coast that has had very little resort development until now. TUI BLUE Curacao begins what the operator calls its opening phase on October 20, 2026, at Groot Santa Martha on the island’s western side, according to Caribbean Journal’s reporting on the launch.
Where it actually sits
Groot Santa Martha is on Curacao’s western coast, away from the Willemstad side of the island where most of the existing resort and cruise infrastructure is concentrated. That is also where Marriott’s new Pyrmont Curacao, which we covered separately, is located near Willemstad. TUI BLUE Curacao is a different property from a different company on a different part of the island, and the two openings happening in the same year is a useful sign of how much new all-inclusive supply Curacao is adding in 2026.
The operator is marketing the location specifically on its quieter character relative to the island’s more developed side, which is a genuine, checkable difference in where the two new resorts sit rather than a vague marketing claim.
What the resort includes
TUI BLUE Curacao opens with 297 rooms across a wide room type range, including standard rooms, partial ocean view and ocean view rooms, oceanfront rooms, family rooms, swim-up rooms at partial ocean view and ocean view tiers, an oceanfront swim-up junior suite, senior suites with private pools, and two bedroom suites with private pools. That is an unusually wide spread of room categories for an opening resort, and it suggests the property is trying to cover everyone from a couples getaway to a multi generation family booking in one complex.
Dining at launch includes a main pool bar called Oasis Pool Bar and several named venues: IVO Beach, Mesa Caribe, Culinarium, Thea’s Reserve, The Restaurant, a Snack Court, and grab and go options, plus a rotating pop up a la carte dining schedule running six days a week during the opening phase. Breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets are included daily. A kids’ playground and beach access are part of the property, and spa services are available from a temporary pop up location while the permanent spa is completed.
The opening phase caveat, stated plainly
October 20 is explicitly described as the start of a phased opening, not a finished resort. Some facilities remain under construction and certain areas may be closed off or screened during this period. This is a common pattern for large new builds in this region and it is worth factoring into expectations if you are considering a stay in the first weeks after the date above. Reviews written in the opening months of any new all-inclusive tend to describe a different property than the one that exists six months later, for better and for worse.
Our guide on what a resort fact sheet actually tells you covers how to read an operator’s own published details, including the kind of caveats that matter most in the first season a resort is open.
Why the swim-up and private pool rooms are the detail worth noting
A resort offering swim-up access at two separate ocean view tiers, plus two different private pool suite categories, is unusually generous with that amenity for an opening property. If private pool access is the deciding factor in your resort choice, this is one of the few new 2026 Caribbean openings offering it at more than one price point. Readers comparing swim-up and private pool options across the region can cross reference our page on resorts with swim-up and private pool rooms, though that page currently covers the Riviera Maya rather than Curacao specifically, since our Curacao coverage is still building out.
What we have not verified
We have not visited this property and are not able to confirm guest experience, service quality, or how closely the finished resort matches the room and dining description above once construction completes. Anyone booking for the opening season should treat the operator’s own description as the plan rather than a guarantee, and should confirm current conditions directly with TUI or a travel agent before travel, particularly for stays in the first two to three months after the October 20 opening phase begins.
