Apple Vacations has announced that its Exclusive Nonstop Vacation Flights, known as ENVFs, are returning to Capital Region International Airport in Lansing, Michigan for the 2027 season. The flights go to Cancun, Punta Cana and Los Cabos. According to the airport’s announcement, reservations are open. This article summarises the published schedule and explains what to check before you book a package built around these flights.
The published schedule
The programme runs from January 24, 2027 to April 11, 2027. The airport lists these routes and days:
- Lansing to Cancun, Mexico: three times a week, on Saturdays, Mondays and Wednesdays.
- Lansing to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic: primarily Sundays and Thursdays, with limited Tuesday departures during select weeks.
- Lansing to Los Cabos, Mexico: once a week, on Fridays.
The flights are operated by GlobalX using Boeing Next-Generation 737 aircraft, and fare options include Preferred Perks Plus and Premium Class reservations. The page we reviewed does not carry a publication date, and it does not give departure times or fares, so check those when you search. Schedules are always subject to change.
How the programme works
Apple Vacations is one of the brands of ALG Vacations, which also includes Funjet Vacations and Travel Impressions. ENVFs are charter-style flights sold as part of a vacation package rather than as standalone airline tickets. In practice, that means you generally book a package that includes the flight and a hotel, and you book through a travel agent or the brand’s channels. The airport’s announcement directs travellers to its own site or a local travel agent.
Other trade reports describe the wider ALG programme. A TravelPulse report says ALG’s 2027 ENVF season covers departures from 12 US cities and five airline partners, with routes beginning as early as December 18, 2026 and running through August 2027. We could not open that page to confirm the detail, so rely on the airline and brand sites for the exact cities, carriers and dates that apply to you, and note that trade reports of start dates can differ.
Why a charter-style nonstop appeals
For travellers who live near a smaller airport, a nonstop flight removes the connection that often makes a resort trip long and stressful. Our guide to how far from the airport your resort should be shows how transfer time adds to the journey, and a nonstop shortens the other end. It also gives you a predictable day of travel, because flights run on fixed days.
The trade-offs are real, though. Fixed days mean stays are often seven or fourteen nights, or shorter blocks tied to the schedule, and you may have less choice of dates than on a scheduled airline. Charter operators can also be less flexible with changes. Read the terms carefully.
What to check before booking
- Total price. Compare the package with booking a flight and hotel separately, including baggage fees and seat charges. Our guide to building the real total cost of an all-inclusive stay explains what to add up.
- Change and cancellation rules. Charter-style flights can carry stricter terms than scheduled airline tickets. Ask what happens if the flight is cancelled or retimed.
- Baggage and seat rules. Allowances vary by fare. Confirm what is included before you pack, and see our packing checklist.
- Transfers. Check whether airport transfers are included in your package. Our guide to resort airport transfers explains the options.
- Insurance. Read the policy terms on cancellation and delay. See our guide to travel insurance for a resort trip.
Booking route and who to ask
Because the programme is sold through ALG’s brands, ask a travel agent which resorts are on offer for your dates and how the package compares with a direct booking. Our guide to booking a resort direct, through an agent or as a package sets out the trade-offs, including who you contact when something goes wrong.
Destinations on the schedule
The three destinations offer very different trips. Cancun is the gateway to Mexico’s Caribbean coast, and our guide to choosing your base on the Mexican Caribbean helps with the choice of area. Punta Cana is the Dominican Republic’s main resort coast, and our guide to choosing a beach area in Punta Cana compares two popular areas. Los Cabos is a desert and sea destination, and our Los Cabos page describes the setting. If you are torn between Mexico’s two coasts, our guide to Cabo vs Cancun for an all-inclusive may help.
Our take
For Lansing area travellers, the return of these flights is a practical convenience, and the published schedule is clear on days and dates. The unanswered questions are fares, times and package terms, so ask for them in writing. Book with a clear understanding of change rules, compare against other options, and keep your documents and insurance in order before you pay.
