What it is

The Mahoe Bay and Rose Hall corridor immediately east of Sangster International. Both resorts we document here publish 2.7 km from the airport and a drive of about ten to fifteen minutes.

This is the shortest published transfer in our entire coverage, across three countries.

Why that matters more than it sounds

Transfer time is the most under-weighted variable in resort booking. It is spent on arrival day and departure day — the two days already shortened by flights, check-in times and checkout at noon.

A fifteen-minute transfer means a morning arrival is a usable afternoon. A ninety-minute one, which is what the north coast asks, often is not. On a short trip this corridor is close to unbeatable for that reason alone, and no amount of resort feature comparison changes the arithmetic.

What you give up

Proximity to a runway is proximity to a runway. This is a developed, convenient stretch, not a secluded one. If the point of the trip is to feel far away, the north coast is the honest answer and the drive is its price.

The corridor is adults-only, in our coverage

Both resorts we profile here are adults-only. Families looking at Jamaica will find the family option ninety minutes east at Ocho Rios, under the same brand.

That is a genuine constraint rather than an oversight in our research, and it is worth knowing early: on this corridor, at present, we cannot point a family anywhere.

The question to settle before booking either

Neither adults-only property publishes a minimum age. Both are labelled adults-only and neither states a number.

If the absence of children is the reason you are choosing an adults-only resort, that is the one fact you need and it is the one fact that is missing. Ask, and get the answer in writing before paying. We will not print a number we cannot source.

Choosing between the two

Same beach, same transfer, same brand, same 24-hour all-inclusive. The difference is fit-out: three infinity pools with swim-up loungers at the Palace property, five pools with one swim-up bar at the other. The head-to-head comparison is the most useful page on this corridor, because with location held constant it isolates what the higher tier actually buys.
