Royalton Hotels & Resorts has reopened its full Jamaica portfolio of five all-inclusive resorts, according to a September 16, 2026 report from Caribbean Journal. All five belong to Marriott’s Autograph Collection All-Inclusive Resorts, and all had been closed after damage from Hurricane Melissa. The company extended the closures to allow more time for repairs, inspections and infrastructure work before welcoming guests back.

The five resorts that are open again

Three of the resorts are in Negril and two are in the Montego Bay area, so the reopening covers both of the island’s main western resort zones.

  • Royalton Negril: a family-friendly resort with 407 suites.
  • Royalton Hideaway Negril: adults-only, with swim-out suites.
  • Grand Lido Negril: a smaller adults-only resort on a private beachfront, described as an “au naturel” property.
  • Royalton Blue Waters: family-oriented, with a water park and a lazy river. It first opened in 2016.
  • Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: adults-only, with 352 suites and a private islet offshore.

The report did not give an individual reopening date for each resort, so if you are looking at a specific property, confirm that it is taking bookings for your travel dates directly with Royalton or through your travel advisor.

What was changed

Guestrooms and suites have been redesigned with contemporary interiors and Jamaican design touches. The reported technology upgrades are the part most likely to change how a stay feels day to day:

  • Interactive televisions in rooms.
  • High-speed Wi-Fi that extends onto the beach.
  • A resort mobile app for contacting staff, reaching the concierge, ordering room service and checking activity schedules.
  • Online room selection before arrival, plus online pre-check-in.

An interactive AI concierge is planned “in the coming months,” so it should not be treated as available yet. On the sustainability side, solar panels have been reinstalled at Royalton Negril and Royalton Blue Waters, expected to generate more than 634,000 kWh of renewable energy a year.

What rates looked like on September 16

Caribbean Journal checked rates on the day of publication, for two adults for one night, including taxes and fees. Royalton Negril started from $302 for September 27. Royalton Hideaway Negril started from $392 for the same night. Royalton Blue Waters was listed at $333 for October 7. No rates were given for Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters or Grand Lido Negril. These are snapshots from a single day, they vary by room category and date, and they will not match what you see when you search, so treat them only as a rough sense of the starting range.

Why the room selection tool matters

At a large resort, the room you are given shapes the stay as much as the room category does. Distance to the beach, the pool, the main restaurants and the entertainment area all vary by building. Being able to choose a room online before arrival is useful, especially after a redesign when old photos may no longer match the rooms. Our guide to choosing a room at a large all-inclusive resort covers what to look at, and our explainer on what resort room category names actually mean helps decode names such as swim-out, deluxe and premium.

What to check before you book

A resort that has just reopened is not the same as one that has operated smoothly for years. Staff are often newly trained or returning, and some facilities can open in stages. Before you book, ask which restaurants, bars, pools and activities are running on your dates, and whether any construction or finishing work remains on site. Our post on how to check for construction or renovation noise before booking a resort lists the questions worth asking, and reading only the most recent guest reviews is the best way to see how the reopened resorts are performing. Our guide to reading resort reviews without being misled explains how.

The wider Jamaica picture

The Royalton reopening is one part of a larger recovery across the island. We keep a running summary in Jamaica’s hotel reopenings after Hurricane Melissa, and the dates for the Sandals rebuild are covered in our post on the Sandals overhaul of three Jamaica resorts. Royalton also has a new project in the pipeline: Royalton CHIC Jamaica Paradise Cove, an adults-only lifestyle resort set to debut in summer 2027, which will be the first Royalton CHIC property in Jamaica. We covered it in Royalton brings its adults-only CHIC brand to Jamaica.

Should you book now?

That depends on how you travel. If you value a refreshed room and modern app-based service, the redesign is a genuine draw. If you are sensitive to noise, crowds or unfinished facilities, consider waiting a few weeks and reading how the first guests describe the stay. Whichever you choose, book a fare you can change or a cancellation policy you understand, and confirm the details in writing. This site does not sell travel, and we have not stayed at these resorts. This article summarises a published report, and all details should be confirmed with the resort before booking.
