All-inclusive resorts with water parks in the Riviera Maya

The criterion, stated first

A resort qualifies if its operator publishes a water park attached to THAT property, not to a brand. Riviera Maya only. Two qualify. This list was held until Wave 3 because the properties that would have populated it belong to operators whose official pages we cannot read.

Commission plays no part in this order. We hold no affiliate relationship with any resort listed here, and when we do, it will be disclosed on this page and it still will not change the order. How we make money.

Barcelo Maya Caribe

One of four hotels in the Barcelo Maya Grand Resort, with eight pools, two named water parks and published swim-up room categories. Forty-eight miles from Cancun airport, and 52.5 from the new Tulum airport.

The catch: No room count, on a hotel inside a four-hotel complex where scale is the main question

Skip it if: Travellers on a short stay

Grand Palladium Kantenah Resort & Spa

The best-documented family resort in our Riviera Maya coverage: 253 rooms, ten restaurants named individually, nine bars, a children’s water park, and a kids club that publishes both its age range and its hours. Ninety minutes from Cancun airport.

The catch: Ninety minutes from Cancun airport, at the far end of the Riviera Maya corridor

Skip it if: Travellers on a short stay

Why this list is two entries long

Water parks are common in this market and rarely published as a property fact. Brand furniture appears on pages for hotels that cannot have it, so we only count one where the operator attaches it to that specific resort.

In the Riviera Maya, two do. Several of the properties most likely to qualify — the large Cancun-zone resorts — belong to operators whose official pages return 403 to us, so they are held rather than missing.

Barcelo Maya Caribe — two parks, one of them charged

Why it is here: The operator names Barcy Water Park, with slides and waterfalls, and Pirates Island.

The catch, and it is a real one: Pirates Island carries an additional charge. The operator says so, which is to its credit and is exactly the kind of thing that otherwise surfaces at the gate. Budget for one park, not two.

Also worth knowing: 48 miles from Cancun airport, the longest Riviera Maya transfer we document. No room count published. The Barcy Club has no published age range.

Grand Palladium Kantenah — the park is vaguer, the childcare is not

Why it is here: A children’s water park on site, confirmed by the operator.

The catch: It is not named, and no detail is published about it. Compared with Caribe’s two named parks, this is a thinner claim.

What compensates: Kantenah publishes its kids club ages — 1 to 19 — and its hours, 09:00 to 17:00, plus how children are charged by age band. On the wider question of whether a resort works for your children, it is the better-documented of the two by a distance.

What neither publishes

A minimum age. A mandatory fee schedule. Kantenah publishes no pool count; Caribe publishes no room count.

What we are not claiming

That these are the Riviera Maya’s two best water parks. They are the two we can document from operator sources. Six resorts on this coast remain held because their operators refuse automated retrieval, and some of them very likely belong here.

Who should ignore this list

Anyone outside the Riviera Maya – our destination-wide water park list covers Punta Cana, Jamaica and Costa Rica. Also anyone assuming a water park is always inside the rate, because at one of these two it is not.

Prices

We do not publish prices for this resort yet. We only publish a price when we can state the amount, what it covers, the basis it is quoted on, and when we observed it.

We have no affiliate relationship for this resort yet, so this is not a tracked link and we earn nothing from it. When that changes, this page will say so and the disclosure will appear above it.

Sources

New resort profiles, when they are actually verified

We publish a resort profile when we can source it, not on a schedule. Six are currently on hold because the operator will not let us read its own website.

This form is deliberately inactive. No email provider is connected, so nothing would be stored or sent, and we will not collect an address we cannot yet honour.
